We did a fun and informative wine tasting featuring the wines of Piemonte last night. After an exploration of the Piemonte region and its appellations, we did a guided, interactive tasting of four delicious wines from the region.
We tasted:
2017 Cordero di Montezemolo Barbera d’Alba Superiore Funtani DOC
This single-vineyard Barbera is from La Morra, int he heart of the Barolo appellation.
2018 Luciano Sandrone Nebbiolo d’Alba Valmaggiore, Alba DOC
This Nebbiolo is from a single vineyard on the Valmaggione Hill in Roero, in the town of Vezza d’Alba, on the left bank of the Tanaro River.
2017 Produttori del Barbaresco DOCG
The cooperative that produced this wine helped put Barbaresco on the map. It’s 51 families of growers produce Nebbiolo Grapes from nine different vineyards.
2016 Rocche Costamagna Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata DOCG
The Rocche dell”Annunziata, in La Morra, is considered one of the top crus in Barolo.
